Distinguished professors, academic instructors, respected parents, and our current and future students—welcome to this new stage of development for our University, by the will of God.
The University of Science and Technology (UST) was established through perseverance, hard work, and great effort to achieve both the possible and the seemingly impossible. It has earned recognition in the fields of Medical Sciences, Engineering, Management, Computer Science, and Information Technology. In previous years, the University has welcomed over 18,000 students from various fields, coming from all parts of the world. The University ensures that students are admitted regardless of race, tribe, or religion, upholding its commitment to equality and inclusivity.
The University has grown to align with and rank among model universities in Sudan and the Arab region. Moreover, being central to society with its academic, medical, and engineering institutions, the University provides essential tools and facilities such as laboratories and educational hospitals, including Dentistry Charity Hospital, Takana/Buluk Educational Hospital, Takana/Alnaw Hospital, and Royal Care Hospital. The number of daily visitors regularly exceeds two thousand.
Through years of continuous effort, the University has established external relations with Arabic UNESCO and UNICEF to enhance academic cooperation and exchange programs. As a result, it has been granted full and permanent membership in Sudanese, Arab, African, and international university unions.
The University’s strong commitment to promoting postgraduate studies and scientific research represents a primary objective for several reasons. It stems from their importance in societal development and human welfare, in addition to being a foundational goal of the University. The prominence and excellence of the University’s graduates in the postgraduate faculties of other universities is widely recognized.
The Faculty of Postgraduate Studies and Academic Promotions plays a significant role in shaping the University’s academic activities and establishing its academic stature, particularly following the launch of Master’s (MSc) and Doctoral (PhD) programs across numerous faculties at UST.
The administrative campus of the University is divided into three parts:
Given these structures, students’ responsibilities should be centered on academic achievement, scientific research, creativity, and innovation. These represent the core courses and opportunities provided by UST. The University administration, in turn, is committed to embedding the Comprehensive Strategic Goals for the coming five years and dedicating its efforts to achieving excellence and prominence.
