The IT Diploma Program

  1. Goals of the Program:

This Program aims at graduating qualified & trained students to meet the need for mediator cadres needed in the country in the field of the computer & IT applications.

To achieve this goal, the academic plan is based on qualifying & training students in the following fields of technology:

  • Systems of Databases
  • Programming concepts
  • Design & management of networks & websites

Further, the academic plan develops self-education capabilities, personal development & working in teams at the students.

  • Granted degree:

This Program grants the degree of diploma in the IT. The degree  is granted in the case of successfully completing the academic plan that contains 126 credit hours usually completed in 3 academic years (six semesters)

  • Acceptance conditions:

students are accepted for this Program according to the requirements specified by the General Administration of Admission & any other requirements specified by the administration of the college.

  • Work Opportunities:

opportunities of work are wide & abundant in such fields as: computer maintenance centers, programming houses, companies, computerized banks & public/private sectors establishments in addition to internet service providing companies & others.

  • Components of the Program:

the Program is made up of a number of courses in various fields of networks systems, courses that  meet the requirements of higher education & cover the requirements of gaining the degree of diploma.

Bachelor of the IT:

  • Goals of the Program: it aims at qualifying the students to enable them to be competent in the IT to meet the current & near-future needs of the work market which is expected to expand in the use of the IT. To achieve this aim, the academic plan of the Program is constructed in such a way that awards the student knowledge & skills in the following fields:
  • Theoretical framework of computer science & the IT.
  • Constructed, directed & visual Languages of computer-programming.
  • Information systems & database applications.
  • Networks & the internet.

The Program is also aimed at graduating students capable of self-learning, personal development, working in groups & contributing in scientific research in the field of the IT.

  1. Granted degree:

This Program grants bachelor’s degree in the IT. It is granted in the case of successfully completing the approved academic plan that contains 165 credit hours usually completed in four academic years (eight semesters).

  1. Acceptance conditions:

Students are accepted for this Program according to the standards & requirements specified by the Ministry of Higher Education & Scientific Research, General Administration of Admission & any other requirements specified by the administration of the college.

  1. Expected output of learning:

It is expected that the graduate  of this Program shall have theoretical knowledge & application skills in the following:

  • Analysis, design & development of database-management.
  • Programming in all types of languages.
  • Design & management of networks.
  • Design & management of services & applications of the internet.

Work opportunities for the graduates of this Program are wide & abundant in such fields as education, computer training centers, computerized banks & public/private sectors establishments in addition to internet service providing companies & others.

  1. Components of the academic plan:

The components of the academic plan of bachelor of the IT include a group of knowledge fields meeting the requirements of higher education & of gaining the degree of bachelor of the IT according to the model directives of the college issued by the Computer Studies Committee in May 2005. The bachelor degree academic plan has been designed to include 3 sections:

  1. University requirements (Higher education requirements), compulsory courses for all students of the college.
  2. College requirements (compulsory courses for all students of the college)
  3. Section requirements ((compulsory & voluntary courses for all students of the section)

Program of network systems diploma:

  1. Program goals:

The Program is aimed at graduating trained & qualified students to design, manage, construct & maintain networks to meet the need for simple cadres needed by the country in network systems. To achieve this goal, the academic plan for this Program is based on qualifying & training the students in the various fields of networking, including:

  • Design & maintenance of networks.
  • Protocols of networks & the internet.
  • Management of networks & network servers.

Further, the academic plan develops self-learning capabilities, personal development & working in groups, at the students.

  1. Granted degree:

This Program grants the degree of diploma in network systems. The degree is granted following the successful completion of the academic year containing 126 credit hours usually completed in 3 academic years (six semesters)

  1. Acceptance conditions:

students are accepted for this Program according to the requirements specified by the General Administration of Admission (GAA) & any additional requirements specified by the college administration.

Work opportunities for the graduates of this Program are wide & abundant in such fields as, computerized banks & public/private sectors establishments, network service companies & others.

The Program is made up of a number of courses in different fields meeting the requirements of higher education, college & the requirements of gaining the degree.

Bachelor of the IT & communication:

  1. Goals of the Program:

The main goal of this educational Program is to teach students the application aspects of the IT & communication in the course of having graduates equipped with the necessary knowledge & training to set up, manage, develop & improve the infrastructure of the IT & communication belonging to different corporations.

To support & achieve this goal, the Program aims at:

  • Providing coordinated study of the basics of the IT, communication & the role of both in corporations
  • Graduation of students capable of self-learning, personal development, working in groups & contributing in scientific research in the IT & communication.


 

  1. Granted degree:

This Program grants bachelor of honor in the IT & communication. The degree is granted at the completion of approved academic plan containing 172 credit hours completed usually in four academic years (eight semesters).

The degree is granted in accordance with the Academic Regulation of the UST – 2007

  1. Acceptance conditions:

Students are accepted in this Program according to standards & requirements specified by the Ministry of Higher Education & Scientific Research (MHESR), GAA & any other additional requirements specified by the college administration.

  1. Expected output of learning:

Graduates of this Program shall be able to:

  1. Specify the requirements of the infrastructure of technological corporations in regard to the IT & communication.
  2. Being acquainted with the information systems & communication technology.
  3. Being acquainted with the internet & web technology.
  4. Employing the information technology & communication to serve the society & development.
  5. Preparing & implementing the policies & plans of the information technology & communication.
  6. Managing the projects of information technology & communication.
  7. Capability of self-knowledge & implementation.

Work opportunities for this Program are wide & abundant in all fields of the IT, communication & both the private & public sectors.

  1. Academic plan:

The academic plan of the bachelor of the IT & communication contains a group of courses in different fields of knowledge meeting the requirements of higher education, college & the requirements of gaining the bachelor degree in the IT & communication. The academic plan  of this Program has been established guided by the model college directives issued by the Committee of Computer Studies – May 2005.

The academic plan of the bachelor program has been designed to include 3 sections:

  • Higher education requirements: compulsory courses for all students of the college
  • College requirements: compulsory courses for all the students of college
  • Section’s requirements: compulsory & voluntary courses for students of the section.

 

 

Bachelor of Information systems:

Academic plan:

This includes a group of courses in different knowledge fields meeting the requirements of higher education, college & of gaining the degree of bachelor of honor in information systems.

The academic plan of this Program has been established guided by the pattern of evaluation & the Guide for University Programs issued by the Association of Computerization of Machines (ACM), the Information Systems Association (ISA) & the Association of Information systems Professionals – issued in 2002, based on the college directives issued by the Computer Studies Committee issued in May 2005.

The Plan has been designed for the bachelor’s degree to include 3 sections, bearing in mind that:

  • University requirements (Higher education requirements): which are compulsory courses for all students of the college
  • College requirements: compulsory courses for all the students of college
  • Section’s requirements: compulsory & voluntary courses for all students of the section.

Computer science bachelor:

  1. Program goals:

This Program is aimed at qualifying the relative cadres to fulfill the country’s need for qualified cadres in the science & application of the computer, which are needed by the country to close the digital gap & construct the information’s economy & society.

The Program is also aimed at graduating students qualified for self-learning, personal development, progressing in higher education & contributing in scientific research.

  1. Granted degree:

This Program grants the bachelor’s degree in computer science. The degree is granted after the successful completion of the approved academic plan containing 166 credit hours usually completed in four academic years (at least eight semesters).

  1. Acceptance conditions:

The student is accepted in this Program according to standards & requirements specified by the National Council of Higher Education & according to any other additional requirements specified by the college.

  1. Expected outcome of learning:

The graduate of this Program is expected to own theoretical knowledge & application skills in the following:

  • Analysis & design of logarithms
  • All languages’ programming
  • Protocols of networks & the internet
  • Design & management of databases
  • Mathematical base of computer science
  1. Work opportunities:

Work opportunities for the graduates of this Program are wide & abundant in such various fields as: education, computer training centers, programs’ development houses, educational programs development houses & computerized companies, banks & private sector corporations in addition to companies that design & manage websites, fields of electronic trade & others.

The academic plan of the bachelor of computer science Includes a group of knowledge fields meeting the requirements of higher education & the requirements of gaining bachelor’s degree in computer science according to the model college directives issued by the  Computer Studies Committee in the MHESR in May 2005.
